OUR STORY

We are Kate and Ian, we both have long histories of working in tourism, Kate as a tour guide in Europe and the USA for 12 years before meeting Ian in Malawi where he was teaching SCUBA Diving. After running a dive school in Mozambique together we decided to move closer to our roots in the UK and when we visited Bulgaria in 2004 the dream to own our own little piece of the planet became a reality. Over the years that dream has grown and matured, from what started out as a small cottage to live in becoming a kayaking business and eventually Gecko Lodge.
